On a rainy day, start at the library on South Church Street. Its calendar separates children’s read-and-play sessions from activities such as painting.
Before you go: Open the individual program before gathering a group; some listings require registration.
Bring a knitting, crochet, embroidery or other fiber project for a social crafting session with fellow local makers. This is self-directed project time, with no instructor. Library information: 919-553-5542.

Can we see several sculptures without driving between parks?
+
Yes. Start at Horne Square, where the town lists several pieces together. Add Town Square for a longer downtown outing; you do not need to follow the entire town-wide trail.
02
Where should we meet for a short walk along the Neuse?
+
Use the River Walk trailhead at 2686 Covered Bridge Road. Head south to the pedestrian bridge and return the same way for roughly a mile on pavement.
03
Which Clayton park has the inclusive playground?
+
Harmony Playground is at East Clayton Community Park, 1774 Glen Laurel Road. Clayton Community Park is the separate park with the paved connection to the community center.
